As UCLA’s second-ranking officer and chief academic officer, the executive vice chancellor and provost (EVCP) has oversight for academic planning and development; faculty recruitment and retention; leadership development and support; strategic planning and resource management; and interdisciplinary initiatives, including those that advance inclusivity across the institution; among other key responsibilities.
The Vice Chancellors for Academic Affairs and Personnel, Research and Creative Activities, and Student Affairs, as well as non-health sciences deans and vice provosts report directly to the EVCP. Health sciences deans report jointly to the Chancellor and EVCP.
