Announcing Salary Increases for Policy-Covered Employees
Dear Colleagues:
We hope you are able to find some time for rest and renewal as the summer gets underway.
Even as we work to address ongoing budget pressures facing the university, we are pleased to announce that salary increases in FY 2025–26 are planned for eligible, non-represented, policy-covered staff employees and academic appointees. Your contributions make UCLA the remarkable institution that it is, and we are grateful for the opportunity to recognize your efforts in this way.
The University of California intends to provide a general 3.2% salary increase for eligible, non-represented, policy-covered staff employees and academic appointees. For eligible staff paid monthly, the general increase is effective July 1, 2025; and for those on bi-weekly payroll, the general increase is effective June 22, 2025. Guidelines and eligibility criteria for policy-covered staff will be issued to departments early next week. You may also reach out to your local HR teams for more information.
For policy-covered academic appointees, the academic salary scales will be increased by a general range adjustment of 3.2%. The adjustment to the academic salary scales for policy-covered faculty is effective October 1, 2025; and for other policy-covered academic appointees, increases are effective July 1, 2025. Details about off-scale and above-scale salary components for policy-covered faculty are still being determined and will be shared in the weeks ahead.
Please note that salary increases for exclusively union-represented employees are governed by their respective collective bargaining unit agreements, which are separate from this salary plan.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all UCLA faculty and staff for your dedication and resilience throughout a year marked by both achievements and challenges. While we face ongoing budget constraints, we are grateful for this opportunity to invest in you — the individuals who make our university one of the greatest institutions of higher education in the world.
We are One UCLA.
