Chaired by the executive vice chancellor and provost (EVCP), the Deans Council supports and advances the mission of UCLA through collaboration, communication, and strategic planning. The Council advises the EVCP on issues that impact academic affairs and university policies and procedures, develops ideas that are translated into action, identifies opportunities for growth and innovation, and facilitates implementation of the EVCP’s and UCLA’s initiatives.

The membership of the Deans Council includes the deans of the College and the professional schools, the vice provost of the Institute of American Cultures, the vice provost of the International Institute, and the university librarian. The Council meets the first and third Wednesday of each month during the academic year.
