Vice Chancellor Roberto Peccei has graciously agreed to continue serving through the conclusion of this search.  We are deeply grateful for Roberto’s nine years of distinguished service as vice chancellor.

Since the most effective way to identify outstanding prospective candidates is through personal contact, I would very much appreciate your circulating the announcement below and notifying the search committee of any individuals you feel are exceptionally well-qualified for the position.  Please forward nominations and applications to ResearchVCsearch@conet.ucla.edu.

As a critical part of the search process, the search committee seeks input from the campus community on ideal qualities, skills and qualifications for a new vice chancellor, current issues and priorities that could help set the agenda for the new vice chancellor, and where you would like to see the UCLA research enterprise five and 10 years from now.

If you are interested in providing input and insight to the committee, please contact Traci Considine, manager of executive searches in the Office of the Chancellor (traciconsidine@conet.ucla.edu or 310-206-8003).  All input, inquiries, nominations and applications will be held in strict confidence.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Scott L. Waugh
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
